Auntie Dai’s Coriander Chinese Pancakes 600g – Fragrant Crispy Chinese Flatbread with Fresh Coriander

Description – Auntie Dai’s Coriander Chinese Pancakes 600g

Auntie Dai’s Coriander Chinese Pancakes 600g are traditional-style savoury Chinese flatbreads designed for pan-frying to achieve a crisp, flaky exterior with a soft, layered interior. Infused with aromatic coriander, these pancakes deliver a fresh, herbaceous flavour combined with a satisfying chewy texture, making them a versatile option for quick meals, snacks, or shared dining in New Zealand households.

The base of the pancakes is made using wheat flour and water, forming a pliable dough that can be rolled and layered to create the signature structure of Chinese-style pancakes. This layering process allows the product to develop a crisp, golden exterior when cooked while maintaining softness inside.

Vegetable shortening and soybean oil are used to create the laminated dough structure, ensuring flakiness and richness. These fats separate the layers during cooking, allowing the pancakes to puff slightly and crisp evenly when pan-fried.

Coriander (7%) is the key flavour ingredient, providing a fresh, aromatic, and slightly citrus-like herbal profile. When heated, coriander releases its natural fragrance, enhancing the overall sensory experience and adding depth to the savoury dough.

Salt is included to balance flavour, while flavour enhancer (621) intensifies the savoury notes and ensures consistent taste across the product.

The texture of Auntie Dai’s Coriander Chinese Pancakes is layered, chewy, and crisp when cooked properly. The outer surface becomes golden and crunchy, while the interior remains soft and elastic with visible layers that separate easily when bitten.

The flavour profile is herb-forward and savoury, with coriander delivering a fresh, aromatic taste that distinguishes it from other Chinese pancake varieties. The soybean oil and shortening add subtle richness that complements the herbaceous notes.

The 600g pack size provides multiple servings, making it suitable for family meals or shared occasions. Each pancake is uniform in size and filling distribution for consistent cooking results.

These pancakes are widely used in New Zealand households as a convenient Asian-inspired meal option that delivers both flavour and texture in a quick-cook format.
