H2: What Is Treacle?

\n Treacle is a dark syrup by-product of the sugar refining process, closely related to molasses but slightly lighter and more\n balanced in flavour. Chelsea Treacle offers a well-rounded taste — not too bitter, not too sweet — making it ideal for both\n sweet and savoury applications.\n

It is especially prized in traditional British-style baking and beloved in New Zealand for its use in:

\n
• Gingerbread

\n
• Sticky date pudding

\n
• Treacle tart

\n
• Christmas cakes

\n
• BBQ sauces

\n
• Marinades and glazes

\n
• Homemade toffee and confections

\n

Its distinctive flavour and rich texture make it an essential ingredient in countless Kiwi kitchens.

H2: Trusted Quality from Chelsea – A New Zealand Favourite

Over 140 Years of Sugar Expertise

\n Chelsea is a name synonymous with sugar in New Zealand. Since 1884, Chelsea has been producing top-quality sugar and syrups from its\n refinery in Birkenhead, Auckland. The Chelsea Treacle 1KG (50804) is a continuation of this tradition — a dark, thick syrup\n produced to the highest standards of purity and taste.\n

\n It’s made with care, consistency, and a commitment to quality that Kiwi consumers and foodservice professionals have trusted for\n generations.\n

H2: Ideal for Baking and Cooking

Bold Flavour, Smooth Performance

\n The thick consistency and intense flavour of Chelsea Treacle make it a favourite for baking recipes that require moisture,\n density, and a complex caramelised sweetness. In savoury cooking, treacle is often used in:

\n
• Marinades for pork, beef, and ribs

\n
• Barbecue sauces with a smoky-sweet twist

\n
• Glazes for ham or roast vegetables

\n
• Rich gravies and braises where you need sweetness and colour

\n
